Here on the Leelanau Peninsula, we have a lot of dunes BUT we also have a lot of clay — large clay bluffs jutting up above Lake Michigan. These bluffs are almost terrifying in their tendency to change rapidly in storms, rain and wind. They are jagged & curved all at the same time. Fragments in dried clay fall onto the sandy beaches below during the heat of summer. Rivers of wet clay carve paths to the water’s edge during as fall storms roll through. That’s the inspiration here —

Narrow Bluff Rings are around 2mm wide — but do vary in width along the band.
