Contemporary? I classify my filigree work as contemporary or modern filigree -- the methods I use are very traditional but I do depart from typical filigree with my playful use of asymmetry, negative space, and other contemporary design ideas. My goal is to highlight the stunning texture of shimmer of filigree wire while making the final piece something that is easy to wear no matter the occasion -- from bopping to the farmers market or dancing the night away at your best friend's wedding -- filigree for every day!
